Sensorless Control of Synchronous Motor Drives: Accurate Torque Estimation and Control under Parameter Errors

Accurate torque control is of interest in traction and other industrial applications, whose realization challenged by parameters errors temperature-induced variations. This article proposes a sensorless technique for resilient salient synchronous machines. The position observer driven the adaptive projection vector error estimation (APP) scheme. A second vector, orthogonal to APP noninterference, serves flux adaptation. Based on estimation, model-based optimal current reference generation maximum per ampere (MTPA) condition designed realize accurate control. proposed scheme validated experimentally 1.1-kW reluctance (SyR) machine test bench.
